"Official Girl" is a song recorded by singer Cassie. The original composition was written by members of a collective called The Clutch, which includes Balewa Muhammad, Candice Nelson, Ezekiel Lewis, along with Marcella Araica and Nathaniel "Danja" Hills. This song is so intense, masterfully arranged and brilliantly produced it's ridiculous. The selection of sounds used, and the creative genius are like no other. I can't comprehend what the heck Danja was thinking, but I wanna know. At least, that's how it started. There is literally so much going on with this song, in production, lyrics, vocal style, context and more, that it literally can not be written in it's entirety in this passage alone. It has haunted me in the most beautiful, ethereal way that a song could for a long time now.
Over time, the things that have value and stick to the memory of the mind and heart will greatly vary. Besides our shared universal requirements like air, water and companionship, our perception of what's valuable enough to print to memory is constantly changing and going through evolutions. What needs to be remembered on any given Sunday is relative to the times, circumstances or needs of that stage of ones life. The rest is forgotten. Let's take a different look inside.
How much of our memory banks are stuffed with trivial information? Indifferent random info that doesn't help us in either direction. It's just stuff, right? Some cool stuff, some dumb stuff, some smart stuff and a bunch of uncategorized 'other' stuff. Too much of what has been committed to our personal memory is stale outdated trivia, getting in the way of all the important stuff. At least that's what I'm thinking. Let's Cipher.
